At Utah Youth Village our mission is to ensure that every child experiences a deep sense of belonging and safety, empowering them to thrive and reach their full potential.  To achieve this, the Village encompasses four distinct divisions, making it one of Utah's largest and most respected nonprofit organizations. Through our comprehensive services, we strive to ensure that every child has the opportunity to flourish in a supportive and loving family environment. We believe if we help one child, we will help generations to come.

We were founded in 1969 by Lila Bjorklund.  Our dedicated and well-trained staff provide services to thousands of youth and families each year in treatment foster homes, two therapeutic boarding schools, the in-home Families First program and thousands of families around the world utilizing the SmarterParenting.com online resources.

All of Utah Youth Village’s divisions and programs follow the principles of the Teaching Family Model. This is an evidence based approach to providing therapeutic care providing humane, effective, trauma-informed and individualized care to the populations we serve. The Village is nationally accredited by the Teaching Family Association and all employees providing therapeutic care hold individual certifications from this association.
