Veggielution

Veggielution is a 6-acre community farm located in the heart of the East San Jose neighborhood of Mayfair. Mayfair is a working-class immigrant neighborhood that is rich in cultural and culinary traditions but faces serious economic and health-related challenges.

We expand opportunities for East San Jose residents to be rebuild their local food system through fun, family-focused programs such our Youth Garden, Spanish-language cooking classes, community farming, yoga, and Art in the Garden.  

Each year, Veggielution grows over 30,000 pounds of produce using organic and sustainable growing practices.  Over 60% of the produce we grow is distributed to our East San Jose community residents through low-cost channels, including our low-cost Farm Box, Farm Stand, Veggie Vouchers (veggie “prescriptions” issued by local clinicians) and donations to volunteers and local community organizations.

At Veggielution, honoring and celebrating food in community is at the heart of our work  We are passionate about the power of good food and culinary tradition for physical health and strong neighborhoods.
