Vernon Historical and Genealogical Society

The purpose of this fundraiser is to fulfill an objective of the Society to provide a permanent location where the Society meetings may be convened, materials stored, and purposes of the Society can be facilitated.

We promote research into and to develop an interest and appreciation for the history of Vernon Parish, West Central Louisiana and East Texas area.

Promote research into the genealogy of  the families which have influenced that history.

To promote the development, distribution, and preservation of historical sites and genealogical information that has been researched and proven.

To assist members, students, genealogists and historians in collecting and storing historical and genealogical information and to embrace new technologies that will expand genealogical research.

To collect historical and genealogical materials and publish said material in an official journal called "The Vernon Genealogist".
