At Veterans With Pets we understand the bond a companion creates with its Veteran owners, as well as in many cases the motivation needed to keep moving forward! So our mission is keeping those companions healthy, happy, and moving forward as well! We firmly believe that without these companions for our Veterans, the well-known statistic of “22” a day would dramatically increase. We are simply “Providing services for the pets, that are serving our vets!”

Not only are our services provided for Veterans, but their spouses, and Widows of Veterans as well!

When contacted, we work with veterinarians should they have a client that is a Veteran and would find themselves in a financial hardship paying for the services needed. We provide the finances needed for the care of their furry friend for them! This is not only Statewide in Ohio where our base of operation is located, but Nationwide. We have helped Veterans in FL, TX, and the state of Michigan as examples.

We stay strong in the communities with preventative care by traveling the state to attend vaccination clinics held by Tractor Supply. While in attendance, we provide any Veterans that arrive free care of their companions from micro chipping, flea and tick control, to vaccinations, and health checkups! 

Another service we have provided is boarding. In times that a Veteran experiences medical issues and is admitted to the hospital, their furry friend needs taken care of as well. During these stressful times, the worry and concern about the expense of boarding their companion should not distract them from focusing on their own health, so we are there to help with the expense!

In the future, should the resources be available, we hope to begin covering the expense of adoptions through shelters to all Veterans! Unlike other programs there will be no limitations as to what a Veteran would wish to adopt. If they find their forever friend at a shelter regardless of age, size, or special needs, we will be there for them! We also have the goal to begin providing financial assistance for those Veterans that need their adopted companion trained and service certified. 

There is a great deal of other services we wish to provide, and if called upon we will assist in any way we can. Recently we covered the cost of a Veteran whose pet "Sassy" had a growth and needed to be biopsied. The results came back and as a result of the quick action taken, Sassy was treated and will continue to provide her companionship for years to come! 

We are so honored to be able to provide the care and services needed to keep our Veterans companions healthy, and with your help and generous support we will continue "Serving the pets that are serving our Vets!"

With your donation, and should our goal be reached, we will be able to help approximately 20 more veterans! This would meet our Organization's first year of being active goal, of helping 35 veterans by years end.
