Bryan Viking Band Boosters

A nonprofit organization

Our Mission Statement : To enhance the Bryan Band and Color Guard Program by promotion and encouragement and to render financial, moral, and any other reasonable support that will enhance the experience of the students in the program.

The Bryan High School Band and Color Guard program is not just one band, but has many groups within it. The most obvious is our UIL Award Winning Pride of Bryan Marching Band. Throughout the rest of the year, the Bryan High School Band and Color Guard program is comprised of the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Winter Color Guard.

Our support is not limited to just raising money, but using those funds to design and build the props for the performances, supplement transportation costs to away games and contests, maintain the 18 wheeler trailer to transport the instruments, equipment, and providing meals for the students during away games and competitions.

If you are looking for a group that crosses all the ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, and demographic lines, please think of us as you make your giving decisions. We really do appreciate even the smallest contribution, and it will go directly to support these students!

Testimonials

"The Viking Band Boosters do so much for our program! Their efforts in creative and community-oriented fundraising make so many things possible for our band but even above their monetary donations we value the donation of their time more than anything else. They always have a strong presence at our band events, be it a game, contest concert or just a rehearsal and it means so much to the kids to see them there cheering on their efforts. A band booster parent is not the parent of just one kid but is the parent of them all. That takes a lot of time and support and we appreciate all that they do for our program!"
- Laura Grems - Director of Bands

"The Viking Band has had a huge impact on my family as band members and as band parents. My children have grown not only in their musical talents, but as young adults by developing leadership skills, accountability, and working as a team. The Viking Band Boosters support the band so to help ensure that their opportunities are limitless. Having been a band parent for the last 5 years and with 4 more to go, it is definitely a Band Family!"
-Ginger S.

"It's difficult to put into a few words how much the band has impacted my kids' lives. The band influences the kids in so many ways including instilling leadership, purpose, discipline, responsibility - the list goes on! Band kids are great kids who grow into fantastic adults. The boosters help make these benefits a reality."
- Mark S.

"I support the Bryan Band because band was a turning point in my life as a student. Mr. Hall (my director) invested more in me than I deserved and challenged me to always become better -- I cannot thank him enough. Band really does make a lasting change in the lives of the students involved."
- John B.

"As a former band parent (11 years total counting from the beginning), I'm sure I could never count the many ways Band was beneficial to my kids. One thing I know for sure though, Band was never just notes on a piece of paper.
Band IS limitless opportunities to explore creativity through challenging curriculum that involves the mind and body. It IS learning to develop a competitive spirit in a team atmosphere while becoming a better individual musician, student and person, all at the same time. Band IS a family where everyone is valued and appreciated for their contributions, a place where you are missed if you aren't there.
Participating in Band through middle and high school certainly instilled valuable life skills in my young adult children: discipline, a strong work ethic, creative and critical thinking skills and a keen attention to detail. They are moving on successful paths in life due in large part to their participation in Band. "
-Becky K.

"The benefits of The Viking Band and Color Guard experience for our four children have been extraordinary: music education, teamwork, self-discipline, effort toward common goals, leadership camps and experience, performance competition, educational travel, networks with students in bands across the sate, and enduring friendships top the list. Band and Color Guard have been an investment in our children's future because of the real world training and opportunities they have gained."
- The Chumchals

"We feel our parental involvement with band helped increase our child's academic achievements. We created a bonding relationship with him. Our involvement also increased his value on music and his intentions to continue learning and participating in the Viking Band. He is now a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band."
