The Vision Education Program services children who live in rual areas. Many of these neighborhoods lack the array of opportunities for out-of-school activities such as summer learning, technology, building social skills, recreation, mentoring, and gaining an appreciation of the arts through cultural enrichment activities.

The Vision Education Program has an impact on children, parents, and community in the following three ways:

1. Increase in the academic achievements of children: Provide children during out-of-school time with educatiional opportunties in the areas of reading, math, writing and technology. Positive gains in academics can enable children to be better prepared for the upcoming academic year. Therefore, the Vision Education program serves as an instrument in bridging the learning gap and raising the achievement levels of children.

2. Promote social skills, provide cultural enrichment activities and mentoring: The Program provides activities that promote social skills which help to increase children's self-esteem and respect for others. Through cultural enrichment activities children are exposed to art, dance, music and sports which encourage creative expression and wellness. In addition children listen to successful mentors as they share positive and inspirational stories about what scholars can achieve if they apply themselves.

3. Encourages community and parental involvement: The program supports parental involvement which in turn helps to promote posivite achievement in children's outcomes. Parents are provided supplemental material, invited to participate in enrichment activities and attend field trips. The community leaders, mentors, and volunteers contribute their time and talents.
