VNA California has been supporting patients in their homes and places of residence since 1931.  One of the oldest home health care providers in Southern California, we provide a complete continuum of skilled nursing and medical services from Home Health and Rehabilitation to Palliative and Hospice care.  In fact, VNA California supports 21,000+ patients each year with 250,000+ home health visits and 185,000 days of hospice care.

We are passionate about quality care and vigilant in providing quality service.  We live and work in the communities we serve and are committed to ensuring that our friends and neighbors have choices for their health care needs.

Because we are non-profit, we extend our reach by providing education and information through our Communiity Outreach programs.  We also feel that it is our obligation to welcome, nurture and mentor the next generation of Health Care providers.  That is why we have spent 14,000 hours since January 1, 2013 providing insight, support and education to over 500 students.  We work with over 20 schools who are looking for a quality practicum and real-world experience for their students.  Students come to VNA California through several areas of discipline.

From LVN, RN and physical therapy students who need insight into the various options open to them to medical students who need an understanding of the home care setting, they all need a practical understanding of patient needs and the various way in which care is provided.

Extra time and staff is required of our nursing, therapy and administrative staff to provide students with a quality experience. While practicums vary from 1 day to 3 months, we estimate that we provide over $1,000 in professional services to each student.

As we balance the pressures of costs and reimbursements, we are trying to maintain our outreach and education services.  We see the positive results that come from working with students.  They are bright, understand the need for quality care and eager to learn.  We see their passion for quality patient care and their excitement when patients turn the corner from a difficult injury or illness.

We want to continue and expand our program so that we can participate in caring, nuturing and mentoring the providers of tomorrow.

Our goal is to support 12 new student experiences within the VNA.  That goals is $12,000.  Your help and support for quality care as we train and mentor the next generation is greatly appreciated.
