Eradicating homelessness amongst our military heroes is one of Vision of Hope’s utmost priorities.  Recent information from the Veterans Administration estimates more than 300,000 vets are homeless on any given night. 

Vision of Hope's Hope for Heroes programs help homeless veterans and their families off the streets and into permanent supportive housing. Each fully furnished unit is designed to fit each Veterans needs and personality. When the Vets step into their unit for the first time, they have everything they could possibly need to prepare them for success in their new home, from toiletries, to furniture, cleaning supplies, to snacks. Each veteran is also paired with a Case Manager that provides them with supportive services that are there for them if they need that support or someone to just check on them from time to time. 

WHY ARE VETERANS HOMELESS?

*23% of homeless population are vets

*1.5 million vets are considered at risk of homelessness due to poverty

Veterans need a coordinated effort that provides secure housing, nutritional meals, basic physical health care, substance abuse care and aftercare, mental health counseling, personal development and empowerment. Additionally, veterans need job assessment, training and placement assistance.

Give BIG San Bernardino County is a 24-hour online giving campaign on 5/8/2014 that allows you to give to your favorite causes in our community. Our goal is to get everyone who cares about the residents of San Bernardino County to help us raise a minimum of $300,000 in just 24 hours.

How it Works

From 7 a.m. on May 8, 2014 to 6:59 a.m. on May 9, 2014, supporters of San Bernardino County nonprofits can go online, connect with causes they care about and make a donation. Every donation made has a chance of receiving a “Golden Ticket.” When a randomly selected donor is the lucky recipient of a “Golden Ticket,” their charity will receive additional prize money.
