Volunteer Center of Kern County Inc

A nonprofit organization

$200 raised by 2 donors

The Volunteer Center of Kern County, originally a project of the Bakersfied Junior League in 1972, was established to utilize volunteers to address the issues related to Kern County through VOLUNTEERism.  The agency has grown to encompass many of Kern County's non profit, governmental and health related organizations, assisting them in securing the vital "manpower" needed to deliver their services to our community.  Agencies such as: Bakersfield Homeless Shelter, Gleaners, Alliance Against Family Violence, MARE, Amercan Cancer Society, CASA, Ronald McDonald House Charities, SPCA, Habitat for Humanity, Kern County Museum, CALM, Bakersfield Art Association, Links for Life, Bakersfield AIDS Project, Optimal Hospice, CAPK Food Bank, schools, hospitals and and many, many more rely on the Volunteer Center to recruit those individuals to accomplish their goals.

We serve as a two-edged sword, working on behalf of the agencies AND community members interested in finding the "niche" for their passion to serve others and make a difference.  Our volunteers range in age from preschool to 101 years of age and eveyone in between.  Our goal is to match those interested volunteers with the agency creating a win-win situation for our community.

The Volunteer Center of Kern County provides more than $76 MILLION DOLLARS in volunteer services to our communty each year.

We serve as the "hub" of volunteerism for hundreds of Kern County's nonprofits but we need YOUR support to allow us to support them.

Donate your TIME (volunteer hours) and/or your monetary donationBOTH equally important to our community.  The Volunteer Center and our VOLUNTEERS ARE THE HEART OF KERN COUNTY!!!
