Vox Culture Houston

Vox is the Latin word for "voice". It is from this definition and meaning that Vox Culture was created.

Our Vision: Vox Culture sees a fragmented society coming together to find common ground toward the betterment of the world. Through human creativity we tap a renewable resource to combat poverty and injustice.

How do we achieve this? Since our founding in 2008, through the use of various art forms, collaborations with artists and bringing everyday people together, we have sought to address numerous forms of poverty and injustice that affect the city of Houston and the world by applying creative solutions through educational, awareness, community service, and fundraising events and projects.

We partner with a different organization each year from January-December that focuses on the specific issue that we seek to address, and in the process implement the above.

What are Vox Partners 4 Giving ?

Monthly donors who are willing to contribute financial resources to the work of Vox Culture on a monthly basis, at the $50, $100, or $250 level. This level of giving is something we truly consider a partnership in helping Vox Culture connect the Houston community to social causes in creative ways.

Why is this important for Vox Culture?

Vox Culture was founded on the generosity of many volunteers who gave time, talent, and resources to make the organization work. It could not have started nor survived without that help. As we have grown in size and diversity, we have also grown in our need for a wider and more diverse support base to keep moving ahead. It requires resources to create our events, and manage the new initiatives we’ve begun.

How does Vox Partners 4 Giving  fit with your strategy?

We understand that just as our core team of volunteers all come from diverse backgrounds and cultures, every giving partner is unique and may be able to contribute differently to the organization. Not everyone has the resources to give at the level of the Vox Annual Fundraiser. We are aware that people still want to support the organization and the mission of Vox Culture in whichever way they can.

Current Initiatives:

One of the things we are incredibly excited about is our current partnership with the Houston Independent School District and Lee High School. We have just launched a mentorship program to help students at this school with the hope that we can inspire them to more, provide educational opportunities that they would otherwise lack, and journey with them to seek higher education and achievements.

Therefore, we are looking for people who would be willing to donate to Vox Culture for the next 18 months while this partnership lasts. If all goes well, we hope this relationship will continue or even develop into something more. After the 18 months we will provide a full update and will ask for donor support at a level in keeping with our next step. We hope you will journey with us through this unique partnership and join us in creating a new future for our city.
