The Washington Mediation Association, founded in 1983, is a statewide organization dedicated to improving and enhancing the mediation profession in Washington State. Its mission is to advance the use of mediation as an effective form of alternate dispute resolution; foster high standards of mediator conduct; train and certify mediators; and be the voice of professional and volunteer mediators in Washington State.
The Washington Mediation Association's 2023 primary goal is increased PARTICIPATION. Increased participation in WMA membership. Increased participation in our certified mediators program. Increased participation in our monthy Mediator's Cafe. Increased participation in our annual Fall Conference. Increased readership in our revived Newsleteter. Increased participation in visits by the public to our WMA website.
To reach our 2023 goal the Washington Mediation Association Board asks your financial support to raise $5,000 to create and implement our 2023 outreach program and to continue our efforts to upgrade our website's "Find a Mediator" service. Your donations will fund a project to engage our new webmaster to take a fresh look review at our existing "Find a Mediator" service, propose ways to improve and enhance our service, and then implement with the funds we raise through this event.
Your donations during this Giving Tuesday event will also help WMA to build upon its successes in 2022 to bring our monthly Mediator's Cafe and our annual Fall Conference to more people. Your donations will keep the momentum of our 2022 Fall Conference that brought a 18% increase in registrations to our Conference. In 2022 WMA was able to offer our attorney registrants a full 6.25 Washington State Bar Associaiton Continuing Legal Eduction credits in the categories of Ethics, Equity and Improving our Legal system. Our non-attorney registrants can apply their earned hours towards our vigorous certification and re-certification requirements. Our 2022 Fall Conference inspired our attendees to think about and implement or enhance existing programs that bring mediation skills to young people through peer mediation training programs in our public schools.
To reach our 2023 goal we need your financial help. Your donations to the Washington Mediation Association today help will our organization grow stronger in 2023 by increasing participation in our organization's membership and our website's "Find a Mediator" service.
