For nearly forty years, the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) has been the Washington DC Metro region’s leader in bicycle advocacy, education and the promotion of cycling.   WABA services the District of Columbia, City of Alexandria, and the Counties of Arlington (VA), Fairfax (VA), Montgomery (MD), and Prince George’s (MD).

Over the past 40 years, we have reached nearly 100,000 riders (youth and adult combined) with skills and safety training.  Additionally, WABA has planned and advocated for numerous innovations in bicycle transportation—including playing key roles in the concept and execution of the Capital Crescent Trail, the Metropolitan Branch Trail, hundreds of miles of bike lanes, and innovations in urban cycling infrastructure--including downtown cycletracks, bikesharing, and DC’s multi-modal bicycle station.
