WAIT House

WAIT House's goal is to provide stability and resources to homeless youth through coordinated services, reunification with families when appropriate and the provision of supervised emergency and transitional housing.  Since opening its doors in 2003, WAIT House has provided over 27,000 bed nights to over 1,800 youth and young adults.  We work with each young person who comes through our doors to foster independence, personal responsibility and self-sufficiency.  Relationships built, lessons learned and confidence gained while at WAIT House last a lifetime.

OUR PROGRAMS

Crisis Services

Providing emergency shelter to homeless youth ages 16-24 including case management, goal planning and aftercare.

Transitional Living 

Providing long-term shelter and services to homeless young women ages 16-24, primarily those who are pregnant and/or parenting.

Permanent Housing Assistance

Helping individuals and families of all ages to locate and keep safe, affordable permanent housing.

Street Outreach

Assessment, case management, referrals and crisis stabilization for youth who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, trafficked or at risk of trafficking.

Safe Harbour

Identifying youth who have been or are at risk of being trafficked or sexually exploited & linking them to resources.  Providing training for local agencies and health care providers on recognizing signs of youth trafficking.
