Wake the Nation is an advocacy organization dedicated to bringing drug awareness and education to the forefront of discussion while supporting those suffering with addiction and their loved ones. Wake the Nation is partnered with New Directions Addiction Recovery Services as a registered Illinois 501c3 nonprofit organization.

Our focus is to provide communities with the educational information necessary to build awareness of the growing drug epidemics and serve those who suffer with addiction as well as their families and friends by providing opportunities of support. In a nation where substance abuse and misuse is an increasing issue, affecting more families across the country than not, Wake the Nation strives to address the issue in a welcoming manner that families and friends, as well as those suffering from addiction, feel comfortable acknowledging drug related issues and receiving services.

Our goal is to be leaders in the movement that brings drug addiction and overdose awareness to the forefront of discussion in our communities among officials, leaders, and citizens by creating mass awareness of the Heroin and controlled substance epidemic spreading across the nation through advocacy efforts such as organized campaigning and awareness events. Our goal is to develop and implement innovative curriculum for drug education. Our goal is provide support by building a well recognized and respected network of cooperative agencies that strive to ease the stigma of addiction, aide in treatment of persons and affected individuals, and who aspire to assist in equal opportunities for those in recovery. Our goal is to promote the substance-free lifestyle as the new “social norm”.
