Give to the Class of 2024 Senior Gift

Fundraising for Student Wellness

Your gift to Wakefield School through GLP today will help our Seniors raise funds for the refresh of the weight room space in the Upper Gym. This space is used frequently by our Owls, whether it be for fitness and training between athletic games or for club activities such as those conducted during the Equestrian Cross-Training Club work-out sessions. 

Started earlier this school year, the Equestrian Cross-Training Club’s mission is to strengthen muscles, increase core stability, and improve mobility under the guidance of an ACE-certified Personal Trainer. While the club was originally created for Wakefield’s Equestrian Team, it has welcomed other athletes who are interested in a balanced fitness routine.

The weight room space is also made available to students during regular weekly Open Gym times, when students are invited to take a break from exercising their mental muscles and focus on their physical health and wellness. Open Gym also serves as a time to build community, as students engage with each other in social and physical activities.

What is the Senior Gift?

Each year, Wakefield School's graduating class selects a campus improvement project to fundraise for, as a way of giving back to the school. This year, Wakefield's Class of 2024 has chosen to raise funds for the weight room located in the Upper Gym. The funds raised through Give Local Piedmont and through Chick-fil-a sales will help underwrite the rehabilitation of the space and repair or replacement of exercise equipment.
