Warrenton Chorale

Join the Warrenton Chorale at the Courthouse steps on May 25 as we sing " A Salute our Armed Forces", with an outdoor concert in downtown Warrenton. And mark your calendars for our annual Christmas in Music Concerts on December 10, 11, and 12 at the Warrenton United Methodist Church.

Our Mission

The mission of the Warrenton Chorale is to enrich the lives of our singers, audiences and community by performing diverse styles of choral music.  

The Warrenton Chorale is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is able to accept tax-deductible donations from the public. Your donations through Give Local Piedmont enable us to present high quality music to the entire community.

Our Story

The Warrenton Chorale was originally composed of adult singers from area churches brought together to form a community choir to celebrate the Christmas season. Today, in its 71st year, the Warrenton Chorale draws singers from a much broader geographic area--individuals who love to sing all types of music from the traditional to modern.  The Chorale is known for excellent directors and talented accompanists.  Chorale concerts have included handbell choirs, children's choirs from our local elementary schools, and area instrumentalists.  This spring and summer the Chorale will be participating in several Warrenton events, and will be bringing the joy of beautiful music to local nursing homes.   Learning, preparing, singing and sharing great music is what we do!!

Our Vision

The Warrenton Chorale will continue to enrich singers and the community with sacred and secular music of highest quality, while helping to grow the love of music in our youth.  Partnering with local school music departments,  involving high school students who love to sing, or bringing music performances to the schools, the Chorale will provide opportunities for musical abilities to blossom. 

Spring and Christmas concerts will bring beautiful music to enhance seasonal celebrations and provide wholesome enjoyment for families and individuals.  Repetoires will explore new composers and sounds side by side with beloved musical memories and masterpieces of choral music.   

Meet Wendy Oesterling, our artistic director!

Wendy brings to the Warrenton Chorale a wealth of knowledge and experience with choral music, choral singers, and music audiences. The following are just a few things from her extensive resume that we think will be of interest to you. She is/was:

• A seasoned choral conductor, church musician, and music educator
• The founder, current conductor, and artistic director of The Piedmont Singers  which is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary
• The director of choirs and orchestras at Liberty High School in Fauquier Count from  2008-2016
• The Managing Director of Winchester Musica Viva, a professional level chamber choir, for 10+ years, and a singer with the choir since 1995
• The Church Music Director at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Middleburg from 1995-2020 and at Grace Episcopal Church in Berryville from 2020-present.
