Did you know that breeders were the original animal rescue providers? In 1994, a group of bird breeders joined together to form Wasatch Avian Education Society. As most of these people are now retired, our emphasis has shifted to rescue and rehoming. Medical care and finding new homes is only the first step in assisting these beautiful, long-lived parrots. People must learn appropriate expectations, how to deal with problem behaviors, and how to provide a good diet and stimulation for their pets. WAES also supports organizations that conserve the habitat of wild parrots. We are an entirely volunteer organization, and always welcome new members.
