Wasatch Immigration Project

Founded in 2023, Wasatch Immigration Project (WIP) was born out of the idea that everyone deserves access to legal assistance when navigating the complex U.S. immigration system. Our community members deserve to feel seen, heard, safe, and supported in the place they call home. 

What started as a group of four attorneys meeting clients in local libraries and coffee shops has grown into a small but mighty team — a Director of Community Engagement, three full-time Staff Attorneys, and two Paralegals — that works every day to stand alongside our immigrant friends and neighbors, co-workers and employees. We could not have done this without your support. 

WIP is still scrappy. We’re still up late reviewing cases, fielding calls from families in crisis, and pushing back against a system that increasingly seems cruel and built to wear people down. But we’ve also grown in strength, in skill, and in solidarity. Together with our volunteer attorneys and community partners, we now serve hundreds of clients through asylum applications, work permits, visas, green cards, and more. And we reach even more people through our community education programming, including recorded panels on Know Your Rights for individuals and employers.

The demand for honest, affordable immigration legal services in the Wasatch Back is greater than ever. Every week, new families reach out for help navigating an immigration system that continues to shift under their feet. With your support, we can keep building — hiring more staff, reaching more people, more quickly, and making sure that no one who lives or works in the Wasatch Back has to face this fight alone.

WIP is here because justice is not something that happens on its own — it’s something we must demand and work to ensure together.
