Washington Ethnic Studies Now Consulting

We are a group of antiracist, Ethnic Studies educator-activists who came together to form 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 non-profits in support the implementation of Ethnic Studies in every classroom of WA State.  Our goal is to ensure that Ethnic Studies is taught by antiracist educators committed to centering the history and lived experiences of People of Color.

Our mission is to bring Ethnic Studies to K-12 classrooms in Washington State by: 

1) Centering the voices of people of Color with a focus on youth and critical educators of Color 

2) Continually learning, teaching, and developing strategies to implement K-12 Ethnic Studies programs in all Washington State public school districts and independent schools

3) Providing anti-racist and Ethnic Studies professional development for K-12 educators and students

4) Cultivating connections with community organizations with shared anti-racist education missions

5) Building systemic power by advocating with educator associations, educational service districts, and state-level education committees and organizations

6) Creating a community of activists to learn from and with each other

7) Protecting the integrity of Ethnic Studies by eradicating whitewashed, Eurocentric pedagogies.
