Who we are:
Founded in 2017 by a handful of small grassroots African led and serving non-profit organizations to support sharing resources, building trust across communities, and gaining influence. We have grown to nearly 200 African diaspora led and serving non-profit organizations, businesses, and individual members that are committed to building a sustainable African Village in the Northwest, so that the African Diaspora can be empowered and thrive.
What we do:
Partner with Seattle Community Services to provide food and essential household items to 300 families per month
Partner with Seattle Community Services to pilot an immigration legal clinic & referral services
Audio/Video translation and outreach support in 33 major African languages and Spanish
Youth program
Leadership and non-profit management training
Protect & improve our communities health
Preserve & raise awareness about our diverse Afro cultures & heritages
Provide limited Rental Assistance (when have funding)
The Causes:
Food & Essential Household Items: We are asking for your support of 300 families per month with food and essential household items.
Immigration Legal Clinic & Referral Services: Thru a partnership with Seattle Community Services (seattlecommunityservices.org) our pilot annual goal is to support 2,000 Afro diaspora asylum seekers/immigrants/refugees via legal clinic, translation, and referral support services.
Cultural & Arts: We are asking for your support to develop an Easy Afro Diaspora Recipe e-book that will be co-designed by youth and community leaders. The funds raised will go towards developing an e-book which sells would provide sustainable funding for our cultural heritage program that supports artists, helps raise awareness and share cultural diversity to Washingtonians across the state.
General Operations: In 2024-5, we reached 91,118 BIPOC & rural community members across 15 counties in WA state all of that was made possible by the hard work of our staff, frontline community leadership team, youth, families, and individuals.
