Washington County Healthy Living Association

Our mission is to involve, enrich, and empower senior citizens in our community. We give quality and dignity to the lives of senior citizens by promoting healthy habits and independent living. We give relief from the huge and growing costs of medical and nursing home expenses by making it easier for seniors to remain in their homes as long as possible.

The Margaret E Blizzard Senior Activity Center is open Monday through Friday, 8 AM-4 PM. Seniors come for activities, breakfast, lunch and socialization. The Center has a computer lab with an instructor, an exercise room with instructors, an arts/crafts room with an instructor, a quilting/sewing room, a library, a large game room with pool tables and card/game tables, and a meditation/relaxation room for group therapy and quiet time. Classes at the center are open to the public as well as seniors, so that all age groups are brought together.

We provide a nourishing lunch each weekday, free to seniors and available to their guests at a nominal price. Lunches are prepared in our kitchen at the Senior Center by our full time staff and served buffet-style. Those who cannot go through the line, are served by volunteers. Frozen meals and non-perishable groceries are delivered weekly to homebound seniors. Our transport van provides rides to and from the Center for seniors who don't drive.
