Our Vision
Recovery is a reality for all.
Our Mission
Create a statewide community that celebrates and advocates for recovery.
At Washington Recovery Alliance, we believe that recovery can be a reality for all. We advance our mission through the following:
1. Promoting Pro-recovery Policy. In partnership with nine regional recovery coalitions, WRA teaches community members how to tell their recovery stories in a way that drives change. Through events such as our annual Recovery Advocacy Day and Recovery Summit, we make sure those with lived experience are at the table when policy decisions are being made. We mobilize those in recovery to share their stories, drive change and advocate for behavioral health.
2. Promoting Public Understanding. WRA raises awareness, challenges misconceptions, and encourages the recovery community to be out and proud of recovery. Through social media, online campaigns, and events like Recovery Month, we change hearts and minds by sharing our community's lived experience.
3. Advocacy Training. In partnership with our local recovery coalitions, WRA teaches community members how to tell their recovery stories in a way that drives change. We educate those in recovery in how to take part in the recovery movement. Together with our coalitions, we deliver 5-6 recovery classes each year.
Over the course of our seven-year history, WRA has trained more than 500 members of the recovery community in citizen activism, led the passage of major behavioral health changes in Olympia, and secured more than $50 million in additional investment in recovery funding. While we are proud of our track record, the need for investment in recovery is more urgent than ever.
Your support today will help make Recovery for All a reality.
