Vision: We envision a Wayne County where every child lives in a safe, loving, and permanent home.

What We Do:

Wayne County CASA recruits, screens, trains, and supervises volunteer advocates to speak up for children who have experienced abuse and neglect. Our volunteers are appointed by jurists (judges and referees) in the Wayne County Third Circuit Court Juvenile & Family division, abuse and neglect docket. Our specially trained volunteers strive to become a positive, stable influence for Wayne County Children, while ensuring they have a voice in and out of Court, for a stable future.

The Importance of CASA:

Wayne County has almost 3,000 children in the child welfare system who have experienced abuse and/or neglect in their homes. We need your help to serve more kids in need. According to the National CASA Association, children fare better with a CASA volunteer by their side. When children have a CASA volunteer, they are more likely to find a safe and permanent home; more likely to succeed in school; and half as likely to re-enter the foster care system
