We Are Pals Inc

We Are Pals was founded for the purpose of actively searching for underprivileged at-risk youth and provide them with opportunities to develop life skills, character, hobbies, and a sense of purpose while being part of a community of Pals. We do this through therapeutically adapted outdoor recreation, life skills coaches, and peers who care.

I have seen firsthand how, if utilized correctly, recreational activities can change lives. An example that sticks out in my mind, is a couple of young men who were struggling with anger, identity, and respect. Their parents and other adults were at the end of their rope, and out of options.  By implementing Fly Fishing and Fly Tying, they were able to focus their energies on something more productive, and began to create character around something positive. Once they established this identity most of the other issues just melted away.   If you were to meet these young men today, you would never believe they were the same kids.
