AscendKenya empowers children in Kenya with the gift of education.  We believe that education is the only long-term, sustainable solution to poverty.  Education is the solution for all the other problems.  We award full high school scholarships to children whose only chance for high school is our nonprofit.   The government does not pay the costs and the families do not have the money.  This village is the complete definition of extreme poverty.  

To date we have awarded 361 full high school scholarships.  More than 160 students have graduated high school, more than 100 have gone on to university and over 40 to vocational school.  We have built an holistic business model that recognizes our students, who are among the poorest children on earth, need much more than just having their school fees paid for. Thus, we have 8 staff people in Kenya who job is to be totally engaged in the lives of our childen to make sure we are doing everything possible to help them overcome their challenges. We pay all expenses needed to help our students be successful.

We are both a 501(c)3 in the United States and an NGO in Kenya. We have scaled our business model from 1 to 5 communities in Kenya.
