Our Needs

Program infrastructure needs are the top funding priorities for GPA. Participants use laptops furnished

by Werthing during GPA activities on campus (laptops do not travel home with the students). The

current set of laptops is unstable and unreliable due to age with nearly obsolete software. Werthing

must purchase a new set of 25-30 laptops and updated software. The estimated cost of purchasing 30

new (not refurbished) laptops is $24,000 ($800/laptop). Any overage would be applied toward personnel

expenses for GPA. To prepare for program delivery during the 2022/23 school year and aiming for pre-

pandemic participation numbers, personnel costs to support all programs are a funding priority for

Werthing. GPA-related administrative costs include program/volunteer management, social media and

marketing expenses, including training, and the design and printing of promotional material of Werthing

programs for recruitment purposes.
