After school and on weekends, a shy 13 year old girl would sit in her room expressing her inner thoughts and feelings through her lyrics and music.  Her lyrics sat on her desk as a diary does to many.  One day a friend read the lyrics and was moved by what she read.  She encouraged the shy girl to write more and do more. The girl shared her work with her parents who also encouraged her.

Her family discovered the nurturing West Coast Songwriters and although shy, she agreed to join.  She atteneded the lyric reviews, song screening and numerous songwriting workshops. She found solace, compassion and like minded individuals all wishing to find a way to express themselves in the most intimate and emotional way.

Years later, she is still a member of West Coast Songwriters but has become an outgoing, compassionate individual.  One of her songs was picked up and became a #1 hit for Blake Shelton.

West Coast Songwriters not only provides musicians with access to classes and workshops by industry leaders, but it also provides a place for people to fee free to express themselves with no fear.

West Coast Songwriters is a supportive community for anyone wishing to express themselves through any form of music. Your support will help us to provide future workshops and courses and offer scholarships to students in need of a place for expression.
