Idaho is defined by it's rural communities. We farm, we ranch, we enjoy our rivers and wild places, we are Idaho. The Idaho Organization of Resource Councils (IORC) is a project of the Western Organization Resource Councils Education Project (WORC EP). We are dedicated to building better rural communities by working with local community leaders. These leaders protect farmland, push for greater use of local foods, and ensure a more prosperous communities. 100% of the funds raised through Idaho gives will be dedicated to this project.

The WORC Education Project seeks to achieve a democratic, sustainable and just society through community action. The WORC Education Project is creating long-term social change by building a grassroots base of skilled citizens directly involved in working for stewardship and conservation of land, water and natural resources, economic and social justice for rural communities and empowering local citizens to participate in civic life.

In 2010, WORC Eductaion Project dedicated itself to the Idaho Organization of Resource Coucnils (IORC) Project with the hopes of creating a multi-issued, statewide member-group within Idaho. By the end of 2014, IORC will be on its own as a recognized 501c3 organization. Since it's inception, IORC has gained tramendous membership, is operating in six different Idaho Counties supporting rural communities.


Founded in 1989, the WORC Education Project is a 501 (c)(3) corporation that supports the charitable and educational activities of  WORC, the Western Organization of Resource Councils.


WORC Eduation Project is a network of state organizations in seven states that includes 10,000 members and 40 local chapters. The WORC Education Project has a grant agreement with WORC to undertake strategic research and analysis, public education, leadership and staff development (within the limits of the Project’s tax-exempt status).
