For nearly 25 years, WFCM has provided solutions to our neighbors in need in Fairfax County, Virginia within the geographic areas of Centreville, Chantilly, and Fair Oaks. There are over 1,500 homeless men, women & children in Fairfax County and countless more struggling financially month to month...living below the poverty line...even while earning income from a job ...and many of these are families with children.

Marie and her family of five know the fear of losing housing when landscaping jobs grow scarce for her husband in winter months. They have had to make several moves around Fairfax County, seeking affordable housing. In February 2011 income was so low that Roberto stayed awake at night, depressed about how to pay the rent on their small apartment. Marie encouraged him to have faith and pray.

That next week she learned of Western Fairfax Christian Ministries' emergency financial aid program. She showed the counselor what they had saved and WFCM was able to add some funds from a United Way grant. And the following day, a bag of food items—with $200 tucked inside—was left anonymously at their apartment door. The miracle provision was just enough to cover the rent through their toughest winter month.

“I am so thankful that organizations are here, for all the people even worse off,” says Marie. Her family has also benefitted from free monthly groceries at WFCM's food pantry. “It helps so much to get food and toiletries,” which allows her family to stretch their limited income for other expenses.

WFCM has multiple modes of assistance and ministry, including a year-round food pantry, thrift store and “mercy closet”, emergency financial assistance for rent and utilities, counseling and budgeting classes, homelessness education, a school backpack drive, holiday food gift baskets, medical transportation, and a furniture ministry.

If you have a roof over your head and all your basic needs cared for, please consider making a donation right now to help WFCM come alongside your neighbors who are quietly struggling to provide for their families.
