The Westfield River watershed provides critical wildlife habitat, drinking water protection, fishing, paddling, hiking and other recreational opportunities, and uplifting water, forest and open space vistas.  Each time you see fish jumping in the river, eagles flying overhead and birds and mammals in the woods, you're seeing the results of decades of passionate river advocacy.  When you see a young person fishing or paddling with the family or taking photographs of nature along the river, you're seeing the next generation of watershed advocates.

The Westfield River Watershed Association joins with high school and college students and others who pitch in to haul out trash each year from the river.  Paddlers of all ages join WRWA for on-the-water looks at the watershed.  Hundreds attend WRWA's annual river symposium and fish ladder open house.  This volunteer-run organization also sponsors school trout raising programs and storm drain labeling efforts throughout the watershed.  Recently, WRWA began underwriting a college internship to collect water quality data for a Westfield River database.

WRWA's programs help ensure that future generations will become stewards of this amazing natural resource.  Please join us in protecting your river and watershed.  Thank you.
