The Westminster Economic Development Initiative (WEDI) is the leading partner in designing and developing The West Side Bazaar project. Through a collaborative effort, a West Side building will renovated and revitalized to create a vibrant marketplace called The West Side Bazaar. The project will match motivated entrepreneurs with the resources necessary to establish and maintain a business, and access to ongoing education and mentoring. The City of Buffalo has one of largest refugee populations in the United States, and the West Side Bazaar aims to take advantage of this growing level of human capital. While most population demographics are leaving the city at a high rate, the city's infusion of refugees is an opportunity to create real economic and social improvements. The West Side Bazaar project is possible thanks to support from, West Side Business and Taxpayers Association, Grant-Ferry Association, The Small Business Development Center, SCORE, MicroBiz Buffalo, Massachusetts Avenue Project, Jericho Road Ministries, Journey’s End Refugee Services, West Side Ministries, Buffalo Economic Renaissance Corporation, Local Initiative Support Corporation, People United for Sustainable Housing, Hope Refugee Services, West Side Community Collaborative, HEAL, Buffalo-Niagara Partnership, St. John’s Grace Episcopal Church, Buffalo State College, and Councilman David Rivera. WEDI and all of its partners, thank you for your generous support in improving the lives of families who have survived tragedy, and fostering economic growth in the City of Buffalo. Please visit The West Side Bazaar when it opens in June 1010.
