Starting in 1935 to today, the Wichita Art Museum has offered meaningful encounters with original artworks to citizens of Wichita and the region. WAM offers:


• A commitment to positively impact the lives of Wichitans and the city’s cultural landscape through compelling experiences with the visual arts
• One of the prized collections of American art in the country, now 8,000 strong
• Changing exhibitions that bring art-world trends to Wichita and present strong local artists
• Weekly highly-valued family and children's educational programs
• Free bus reimbursement for school field trips
• Lifelong-learning programs and special events including free lectures, concerts, films, Senior Wednesday, Wichita Art Chatter, Opening Parties, and the annual Friends of the Wichita Art Museum Art & Book Fair
• A special program for Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers
• Annual attendance at roughly 50,000 and growing
• Free Saturday admission with a staffed Living Room for family artmaking activities
