Widow Care Incorporated

Widow Care is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Rockville, Maryland. The mission of Widow Care is to provide desperately needed content, connections and programs to local residents facing the loss of a spouse, so they can become empowered to carry on. 

Widow Care aims to connect the 680,204 widowed persons in DC, Maryland and Virginia to facilitate mutual support, friendship building and resource sharing. We offer monthly peer support groups, monthly social meet-ups, and a localized directory of resources and service providers to assist in organizing post-bereavement obligations. We also provide blog content, online support groups & widowed checklists; we will be launching a Specialized Widowed Mentorship Program in early 2019, as well.

Widowhood is vicious and impacts a large percentage of people such that 1/3 of widow(er)s are under the age of 45, and one third of all people will be widowed by the age of 65 (The US Census Bureau ). Please consider donating to provide support to grief-stricken individuals in the DC area.
