Since 1995, Wildhorse Ranch Rescue aka WHRR, has been helping animals in need.
Our key programs include:
- US Forest Service Horse and Mule Retirement
- After 20+ years, when these equines are in need of retirement, they have been routinely sold at the auction, only to attract the slaughter-buyers.
- WHRR worked with the Payson USFS to put a program in place to allow the USFS retired horses and mules to come to a charity instead of being sold at the auction.
- NO, the US Government does NOT provide any funding to help with their care at our ranch.
- Kitty City
- WHRR is home to several hundred feral and semi-feral cats. All are spayed/neutered and kept in climate controlled cat atriums for their safety and comfort.
- We do not take in unwanted cats. (sorry)
- HavsuPup Program
- The HavasuPups are unwanted dogs from Havasupai Village.
- WHRR takes out the unwanted dogs, gets them spayed/neutered and finds them homes.
- WHRR also assists with spay/neuter clinics in the village, as well as providing help with livestock and equines.
- WHRR is a registered 501c3 charity.
