Willard Community Center Corp

Our services are available to anyone who needs it; however, most of our clients are from the nearby neighborhood and attend the elementary and middle schools in the surrounding area.  These kids are in need of personal attention so that they can succeed and get better grades.  We provide them before and after school instruction and a safe place for them with supervision.  Our early childhood program provides an educational foundation for kids starting at 3 years of age. English is a second language of many of our families.  The center provides an educational foundation that could not be achieved in their home lives.

The children in this neighborhood attend either Roper or Lakeview Elementary schools and both schools serve a high percentage of free and reduced lunch participants at 44% and 67% respectively.  As the neighborhood grows, so does our economic and social diversity which ultimately increases the need for more affordable and accessible services. 

Willard Community Center serves a diverse population of individuals and groups that make up the scope of services.  The following illustrates the scope of services*:

Willard's Licensed Child Care Makes an Impact!

• 321 unduplicated children in our programs, ages 3-13.
• 24 children were on a waiting list throughout the year.
• 117 or 36% received free/reduced meals at school.
• 64 or 20% received Title XX assistance.
• 92 or 29% are ethnically diverse.
• 59 or 18% lived with a single parent on a single parent income. 
• 74,974 snacks served throughout 2015.
