Willow Bend is Flagstaff and Coconino County’s only year-round full time environmental education center.

With ever decreasing funding for education we depend on supporters like you who value and understand the importance of investing in our children and protecting our environment through ongoing, science based, outdoor environmental education and service learning.

Willow Bend reaches over 18,000 people in our northern Arizona community each year, half of which are children.

Our mission is to provide education outreach services that build environmental awareness and an ethic of responsible stewardship of our natural and cultural resources.  In addition to K-12 education, our outreach is focused on family science events, adult education series, and community events.

Willow Bend was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 1979 by the Coconino Natural Resource Conservation District (CNRCD) and is committed to sustainable resource conservation.

We have won seven environmental education awards!  At the national level, Willow Bend received the National Association of Environmental Education's 2007 award for an organization operating at the local level.  At the state level, Willow Bend won the 2006 Governor’s Pride Award for Environmental Education and at the national level the National Association of Conservation Districts recognized Willow Bend and our founding organization, the Coconino Natural Resource Conservation District, with their Wildlife and the Environment award.

We are a community resource – come see for yourself!
