The Windsong Pictures Production Youth Center

Windsong Pictures, Inc. has been a nonprofit 501(c)(3) youth organization for 40 years positively impacting the lives of young people through the arts.  Working side by side with the all-volunteer staff of professionals, students experience real life hands-on learning situations, and through this the dreams of children come true.  Windsong Pictures is spearheading a campaign to build a modest but highly productive youth center for creative arts.  The land has been donated, and the plans for the 50ā€™ x 100ā€™ building are set.  There are a contractor and a builder on board.  We do not need to raise millions of dollars.  Instead this project will be completed for $75,000.00, and students have worked very hard in raising $5,000.00 to date for their center, but they cannot do it all themselves.  They need help.

Diversity is a key element in Windsong Pictures programs.  We engage students and their families from many ethnic, racial, international and religious backgrounds.  Students who are involved in Windsong Pictures programs come from many schools both public and private along with home school children.  We also serve students who come from dysfunctional and indigent families along with students who are homeless, abused, physically challenged, victims of violence, medically homebound and bullied.  Something that sets Windsong Pictures apart from other arts programs is that students do not pay to participate, hence the playing field is leveled. Everyone makes the team, and students feel accepted, safe and comfortable.

Investing in the lives of young people generates transformational ideas producing distinctive experiences that address the heart of community problems, foster lifelong skill development for a multitude of professions, instill leadership qualities for tomorrow, and spirit innovation.  The youth center will offer hands-on learning at its finest with unprecedented experience in confidence building, research, writing, set design, float construction, photography, videography, editing, 3D animation, robotics and animatronics.

The advent of the youth center will act as a catalyst opening doors for increased civic engagement through Community Service Programs.  With a firm commitment and a passion for helping those in need, students will be actively immersed in serving the hungry and the homeless through Miss Virginiaā€™s Food Pantry. St. Maryā€™s Soup Kitchen and the Ave Maria House.   Other service projects include Cancer Services, the Childrenā€™s Zoo, the Johnny Appleseed Festival, Historic Old Fort Wayne, Habitat for Humanity and more.

The goal of Windsong Pictures is to ā€œTo Reach Out, Touch Others, and Make A Differenceā€, and for 40 years Windsong Pictures has touched the lives of thousands of people behind the scenes, on the silver screen and in the community.  How we care for others really defines who we are.  With gracious help this legacy will not only continue but grow dramatically.

Respectfully yours,
