Wings of Hope, Inc.

Wings of Hope changes and saves lives through the power of aviation. In the U.S., the nonprofit provides medical air transport services - free of charge - to individuals who need access to specialized medical care.

The organization also works in eight countries outside of the U.S., working with a global network of partners to fly people in remote areas to emergency medical care and fly doctors into communities with no local health care. 

Through its SOAR into STEM hands-on learning experience, Wings of Hope brings high school students into its hangar to expand their knowledge of flight, mechanics, communications and navigation, and engineering. Each five-week session culminates with a career fair and with students taking Young Eagles Discovery Flights. 

Wings of Hope has a 4-star Charity Navigator rating and a GuideStar Platinum rating. 

About Our Medical Relief & Air Transport (MAT) Program

The Wings of Hope Medical Relief & Air Transport (MAT) Program provides medical air transport services, free of charge, to individuals who need specialized medical care that is not available to them locally. Using aircraft specially outfitted with stretchers to accommodate fragile and non-ambulatory patients, we fly individuals to hospitals and treatment centers in 26 states within a 800-mile radius of our St. Louis headquarters.

About Our SOAR into STEM (SIS) Program

SOAR into STEM is a five- week learning experience that provides high school students with project-based learning, connections to STEM curriculum, and a front-row seat into the workings of a global aviation nonprofit using aviation to change and save lives.

Students will expand their knowledge of flight, mechanics, communications and navigation, and engineering as well as explore aviation careers. Each week students will engage with introductory curriculum, guest speakers, career mentorship, and hands-on learning activities that conclude with a Young Eagles Discovery Flight.

Wings of Hope’s Global Programs connects aviation-based non-profit organizations across the world to deliver medical and humanitarian aid to remote communities. With partners in eight countries, the Wings of Hope Global Programs build sustainable air service programs tailored to local needs—always with respect for community autonomy.

We partner with organizations that use aviation to deliver aid to rural communities, including medical brigades and emergency medical evacuations. Wings of Hope supports each partner with aircraft sourcing, pilot recruitment, maintenance, strategic planning, and impact evaluation.

Wings of Hope provides a platform for partners to share resources, participate in webinars, and collaborate. By strengthening this global partnership, we expand access to care and help more people live healthy, dignified lives.
