Wiregrass Resource Conservation and Development Project Inc

Wiregrass RC&D sponsors resource conservation and rural development projects in Barbour, Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Geneva, Henry, Houston, Pike and Russell counties.  The service to these Southeastern counties focuses on land conservation and management, water management, community development and innovation.  We meet needs within the community through service, leadership and building relationships.  We sponsor from 40 to 60 projects each year.  

Some examples of our projects are:

• groundwater festivals in all counties
• assist with the 4-H projects
• outdoor classrooms
• school ground improvement
•  community gardens
• go into the schools to present educational programs. 
•  community improvements
• erosion control projects 
• Senior Citizen Centers improvements
• Community Outreach and Education Workshops
• Parks, nature trails, bike trails

Please consider donating generously to our organization.   Through this program, for every $1.00 spent we have been successful in getting a return of approximately $7.00 in projects.  This is an excellent investment and is a tax deductible donation.
