With A Golden Spirit, Inc. (WAGS)

WAGS primary objective is to rescue, provide immediate medical care, spay or neuter, vaccinate, micro-chip, rehabilitate, socialize, and place in "forever" homes, orphan golden retrievers, and in some cases, a golden retriever want-to-be. Our motto is "We just don't rescue their body, we rescue their Spirit".

After all medical needs are addressed by a veterinarian and behavioral challenges are addressed in-house, publication of the Golden's availability is placed on websites and partnership organizations. Prospective adopters are evaluated through a detailed application questionnaire, verification of veterinarian reference check is done, and a home visit is performed to establish a satisfactory environment for the orphan.

Upon completion of the aforementioned, an adoption agreement signed by both the adopter and WAGS is executed and the adoption process is complete. The terms of this agreement are specific and deal primarily with immediate needs prescribed on an individual basis and changes in circumstances as to the welfare of the orphan. Prior to the final selection, we strive to evaluate each adopter as one who would act responsibly as to the future needs of the orphan.

Lastly, our request for an adoption donation is made of an amount sufficient to maintain funds to continue to assist when a Golden is in need. It is not a prerequisite or condition for adoption nor do we believe it should be prohibitive to the adoption process. We are a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization whose main goal is the establishment of new life environs for each orphan placed. Furthermore, WAGS is licensed by the State of Pennsylvania and subject to the Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement with biannual inspections the results of which can be accessed on line.
