The WE International was organized in November 1998 with a primary mission to reach at-risk youth, teens and family members primarily in low-income neighborhoods to stem the rising tide of addiction, gang violence, high drop out and teen pregnacy rates as well as rising crime rates in inner city neighborhoods. Services are provided free of charge to disadvantaged and indigent individuals to promote stronger families and communities.
A key objective of this initiative, and as a part of the Huntsville/Madison County Community Collaborative is to provide community reintegration, job referrals, housing assistance, substance abuse recovery referrals and services to ex-offenders and their family members to reduce recividism and promote safer communitites. Currently over two million individuals are housed in correctional institutions across the US. Studies have validated the need to provide mentoring and transitional services, education and training to ex-offenders to assure their successful reintegration into their communities. Transition is only successful when supportive services are provided and supportive community organizations are willing to offer a second-chance to non-violent offenders.
Statistics shows that over 75% of the children of adult ex-offenders will eventually become involved in criminal activities and enter prisons throughout the nation. However, when essential youth and young-adult mentoring services are provided, children are less likely to enter correctional institutions.
The Green Dream Mentoring Program links children, youth, and young adults with certified mentors, life coaches and professionals throughout the communities to assure that these at-risk individuals have the necessary tools and alternative recreational and social activities to enable them to thrive and be productive members of communities across the Tennessee Valley and throughout the state of Alabama.
Your monetary and voluntary support is imperative to assure that crime rates are reduced by training, educating, and mentoring individuals to succeed. Your financial support will enable these individuals become law-abiding citizens of our communities and lower incarceration rates across the nation.
Since 1998, the WE International, Inc. has a history of success with providing the necessary support to enable youth to grow up, avoid crime, drugs, and other criminal activities. Join us as we continue to make a difference in our communities through building up lives of individuals to prosper and succeed as productive members of our society.
