Women of Noble Character

Statistics say 1 out of 5 teenage girls will experience depression before reaching adulthood and that more than half of teenage girls are, or think that they should be, on a diet. They also say that 7 out of 10 teenage girls believe that they are not good enough or don’t measure up in some way including their looks, performance in school, and their relationships with friends and family members. These young girls are faced with low self-esteem and negative body image which often times leads to abuse, teen pregnancy, STD’s, eating disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, and suicide. Many also lack the support and proper role models to assist them in becoming strong, confident young women. 

To address this problem, Women of Noble Character fashioned a 3 day conference titled “Show Your Hearts Not Your Body Parts”. The first two days focus on such things as “What God says about you”, “Self-esteem”, “Abuse”, “Purity”, “Proper manners/etiquette”, “Financial Literacy”, and “Job Interviewing Skills and Dress”. The third day is devoted to the girls receiving free makeovers, including hair and dress, followed by a formal banquet that includes a promise ring ceremony.

To continue our support and encouragement, The Nice Girlz Club was born. Club members participate in fun activities for their enrichment and enjoyment, as well as community service activities and classes where they learn important life skills such as cooking and money management.

Our monthly Sister Circle is a time for the girls to share their hearts in a safe environment free from judgement or criticism.
