The Women’s and Children’s Alliance (WCA) in Boise, Idaho, provides safety, healing and freedom from domestic abuse and sexual assault. The WCA operates two 24-hour information lines, secure shelter and transitional housing and provides professional counseling, legal advocacy, licensed child care, financial literacy and life skills training, and case management services.
For more than 100 years, the WCA has been an important community partner. Through our work, we strive to foster a community where individuals thrive in safe, healthy relationships. Our core values provide our staff, leadership, board, volunteers, community partners and corporate pillars the clear foundation and direction necessary to make the greatest impact in the lives of those in need within our community.
In 2015 alone:
Many of our clients would not be able to get the help they need without the WCA due to their financial situations. Last year, 66% of the women and children we served reported an income of $8,000 or less. An additional 20% reported a family income of $12,000 or less.
It is through the generosity of our community, relationships with our partners and support from our corporate pillars that we are able to provide much needed services to victims.
For this year, any money received by the WCA through Idaho Gives will be dedicated to completing the final phase of our capital campaign “Hope Needs Space to Grow”. This provides an opportunity for you to be part of a very special new transitional housing facility on the WCA shelter campus in Boise. The power of many is what makes the Idaho Gives initiative different and unique!
