The Women's Global Cancer Alliance (WGCA) is an international nonprofit organization committed to addressing cancer issues in women living in developing countries.  The majority of these women have no access to care and live in poverty.  Haiti is one example of a resource poor country where 90% of the women do not have access to cancer treatment.

Our research shows that Haiti has the highest incidence of cancer of the cervix in the world.  Without treatment and screening - such as with a Pap smear - most of these women die of their disease.

We cannot change the current environment where there is a lack of access to cancer treatment - however we believe that we can prevent the disease by another method - screening women by applying household vinegar to the cervix and freezing suspicious white spots with liquid ntrogen. This is referred to as the See and Treatment Method of preventing cervical cancer when Pap smears are not available to impoverished women.

Prevention is the key and setting up cervical cancer screening clinics is the path to allowing women to be disease free before invasive or true cancer develops.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 to sustain our cervical cancer screening clinic in Gonaives, Haiti. In addition the WGCA is conducting campaig to prevent cancer of the cervix through raising awareness of the problem and educating the local women of the need to be screened.  Once a Haitian women developss invasive cance the chances for cure are low.

We ask that you give generously so that we can move forward to improve the lives of women limited by poverty and illiteracy.
