Work on Climate

A nonprofit organization

Our mission: Mobilize humanity's talent to build a regenerative green economy. Work On Climate exists because the climate crisis threatens a catastrophic collapse of natural, human, and economic systems within our lifetimes. Just slowing down the pace at which "business as usual" degrades them is not enough. The urgency of the crisis presents an opportunity to do something truly bold and begin the transition to a regenerative economy - where all business activity, by design, strengthens natural and human systems. Our mission is to mobilize humanity's talent to lead this transition.

Work On Climate is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to mobilize humanity's talent to build a regenerative green economy. We cultivate networks of collaboration, peer support, and collective action-both online and through self-organized local and sector-focused chapters-so that climate-motivated professionals can use their skills and influence to drive systemic change.

Since our founding in 2020, our community has grown to 35,000+ members in 100+ countries, helped 3,000+ jobseekers land climate roles, and supported 3,000+ founders in advancing their ventures. By pairing relationship-building with leadership fellowships and focused pilots ("Regeneration Hubs"), we create proof points for field-level transformation-whether that's shifting corporate practices, shaping new standards, or launching innovative financing vehicles.

As the largest global network for professionals working on climate, we're seeding the Climate Work Movement: an economy-wide wave of leaders and networks empowered to turn every field into a force for regeneration.

Our work has been highlighted in most major business press, from Fast Company to the New York Times.

Testimonials

"Joining this Slack community was SUCH an unlock for me - folks here have been incredibly generous with their time in chatting with me, passing my resume forward, and introducing me to their networks. It was incredibly heartwarming and the words of encouragement certainly kept me going. Over the past 3 months, I've spoken to ~60 people, and 95%+ of them were through this community. Suffice to say, this Slack group changed my life." Katherine T.

"Work on Climate deserves all the credit to connecting Rich (co-founder) and I to build a new startup focused on soil health and regenerative ag using automation/robotics. Learning from a community with like-minded mission has been amazing" Kenny Lee
