Washington Shakespeare Company of Arlington County aka WSC Avant Bard

Now celebrating its 22nd season, WSC Avant Bard (WSC) is the theater company in residence at Artisphere in Arlington, Virginia.  Founded in 1990 under the name Washington Shakespeare Company, WSC’s mission is to offer the Washington-area community artistically excellent classical theatrical works, both time-tested and contemporary, with an innovative approach and in an intimate setting.   WSC especially strives to ensure that low- and middle-income groups can afford to enjoy theater and is dedicated to training and showcasing the best emerging talent in the Washington, DC-area.
