Xerocraft Hackerspace provides resources to the community so that people can learn electronic, mechanical, fabrication, and prototyping skils and more!

Xerocraft's resources include a laser cutter, a 3-D printer, sewing machines, soft craft supplies, a vinyl cutter, a band saw, a scroll saw, a wood lathe, a metal lathe, soldering stations, Arduino kits, welders, and myriad other tools for community members to use.

Xerocraft offers multiple workshops each week to teach people how to use our resources and to allow community members to share skills with one another.

People have created all kinds of amazing things at our space; one of our members even created an open source CT scanner!  Projects made at the space regularly include furniture built in the wood shop, bowls created with the wood lathe, tools created with the laser cutter, stickers printed with the vinyl cutter, pillows sewn with the sewing machines, 3-D printers built with parts created by other 3-D printers and the laser cutter, jewelry created from pressing recycled aluminum, cutting boards made in the wood shop and engraved by the laser cutter, and so many more!

Xerocraft offers open shop time for the general public to use the space twice per week.  Donations are encouraged in exchange for the use of the space, but no one is turned away due to lack of funds.  Members pay $50 per month to access the space during members only hack nights.  Work-trade hours are also available for people who would like to become members but cannot afford monthly dues. Members can use the shop six days per week, and one night per week is set aside specifically for the women, trans, femme (WTF) population in our community.  The WTF open hack time provides a safe work space for people who've had gender bias, homophobia, or transphobia keep them away from tools and workshops in the past and encourages even more members of our community to benefit from Xerocraft's resources.

Xerocraft also participates in many community events such as the All Soul's Procession, the BICAS art auction, the Tucson Sculpture Festival, and the Pima County Library DIY Day in order to expose more people to the amazing resources available to create almost anything themselves!

Community groups such as Bit Buckets, a competitive robotics team made up of high school students, and the Pima Community College Engineering Club meet at Xerocraft Hackerspace to take advantage of the workspace, tools, and expertise of members to inspire their projects.

Xerocraft inspires others to learn to do things for themselves and to develop skills that will help them become more self-sufficient.  Xerocraft fosters relationships among many different kinds of people all teaching and learning from one another.  Xerocraft allows people to achieve things that they never thought possible because of monetary or supply limitations and allows people access to a plethora of knowledge and experience.
