Youth Arts & Technology Center

A nonprofit organization

Organized in 1995 in response to increased violence and juvenile delinquency in the African American community, we exist to provide opportunities for personal growth and build self esteem for at-risk youngsters. Our activities include STEM, afterschool programs, coding classes, music classes, a drumline, arts workshops, music conferences, robotics, computer classes, mentoring and more - at minimal or no cost to those in need; providing a positive environment where youth can express their unique talents, and build their self esteem.

Over the past 23 years, we have awarded over $60,000 in scholarships and reached over 5,000 youngsters; many who are now college graduates, successful industry professionals, educators, business owners, internationally travelled musicians, and community leaders. Many of our past students are productive citizens, now with their own families, who attribute their success to the motivational programs at YATC. Many return to bring their children to YATC, while others return as volunteers to mentor the next generation.
