The YMCA of the Coastal Bend offers a variety of programs for youth, families, individuals, and seniors. We are grateful to be included in the Coastal Bend Day of Giving and will use all funding for our youth programs and to provide financial assistance for membership for the youth and families we serve. Camp, Childcare, Afterschool Care, Recreational Sports, Swim Lessons...our Y offers programming that is so much more. We have programs to enhance, protect, and nurture the unique development journey of every child. We provide affordable child care for ages 4-12 during summer and school breaks so children are not left unattended. We foster healthy relationships and boost self-confidence, all in a safe and supportive environment, and the Y is committed to empowering kids to lead healthy, active lifestyles. Instilling confidence and fostering positive friendships with YMCA sports and swimming programs that build lifelong, healthy habits from the inside out. With support from our community, we have more to offer those youth in our neighborhoods building a strong foundation and we hope to propel them to find success and thrive with the help of our donors.

A young man was referred by the TAM-CC Antonio E. Garcia Center to receive a Learn to Sail Grant from the Corpus Christi Sailing Foundation, but he did not know how to swim. Growing up, his entire family was fearful of water. In order to take advantage of this opportunity, the young man came to the YMCA and worked with a water safety instructor to learn confidence in the water and how to swim. It was life changing for this young man to never have been in water to learn to sail in open water
