We believe a person’s zip code, school district, or bank account should not be roadblocks to success – yet this is a reality for so many young adults today.

Our program is designed to reach young adults who face barriers to success but who also exhibit signs that - with the right combination of support, training, education, and guidance - they can achieve success both academically as well as in future careers. Here at YUBA, we push our students to exceed our high expectations and provide the support they need to excel.

Students reporting an income prior to starting the program were earning less than $7,500 a year. This substantial leap in salary is a tremendous start to young adult's career and represents a solid foundation on which to build a better future

Graduates have launched successful careers in various technology roles including IT/Network support, quality assurance (code testing), project management and cyber security.

Top companies such as JPMorgan Chase, Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, Apple and eBay have hired Year Up Bay Area graduates and recognize these young adults for their skills, perseverance and dedication.

Outcomes:

91% of our Class 13 graduates, who graduated in July 2015, are working or in college full-time!

The average hourly wage is $23.25/hour, or roughly $48,000 per year!

 

Indicators of Success

Year Up Bay Area graduates have consistently been hired for jobs that have made them the highest paid graduates across all 14 of Year Up’s national sites. 

Our graduates are in demand. Historically, 37% of YUBA graduates convert to employees at their internship sites. More recently, we’ve seen that average conversion rate exceed 50%. At YUBA we’ve seen an all-time high for a graduate’s salary just out of the program, an outstanding $44.27/hour, which equates to a $92,000 salary!

Such a substantial salary is a tremendous start to a young adult’s career and represents a solid foundation on which to build a better future.
